We came here for an upscale anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. The service was perfect and they were very thoughtful and wrote a happy anniversary note. The staff were helpful and answered many of our questions. They also had many vegetarian options to pick from. It’s a coursed $85 meal and I felt given the amount of food we got, it was very reasonable. The Savannah Red Rice was so good. It was definitely a great take on local food and was very flavorful and filling. I loved all the different vegetables in it - they were perfectly cooked and enhanced the sauce base. For the main, they had an okra and beans dish with bread. It also came with some salad and the salad was really fresh and had a very crispy dressing. The whole entree with its different parts went together so well. The beans were not too soft or hard but the perfect in-between. Insta: @TheShahLALand

Came twice in the same day to eat in the diner side with my family, hands down one of our favorite diner experiences! Couldn't get a reservation for the tasting but absolutely loved the diner for lunch and dinner! The deserts are decadent and the potatoes memorable oddly enough. Loved all the entrees! Service absolutely top notch!

One of our favorite spots in Savannah. The food is always creative and tasty. Everything we had was delicious, but there was a couple of standout dishes. The first was the leek and potato soup. It was smoky, buttery, just a hint of leeks - just fantastic. The second start of the night was the tartare. The seasoning was on point and the green tomatoes added a great acidic pop. The crackers served with it we're also fantastic but the seasoning overpowered the flavor of the beef. The only "bad" part of the evening was the wine service. Our waitress knew nothing at all about the wines on the list and told us the som wasn't there that night and there wasn't anybody else that could help. I don't expect someone to work every night of the week, but for the price being asked for the meal, there should be at least one other person on staff who could tell us about the wines. Eventually our waitress brought over another waitress who "knew a little bit more about wine" and she did help us find a bottle, but it was a bit jarring.

The restaurant is set in a building with a lot of history, and its story is aligned with the changes in Savannah over a long period of time (e.g., former Jim Crow era bus station, a former bakery). The food was the best culinary experience we had during our entire stay in Savannah. It was one of the few places that lived up to all the hype surrounding Savannah gastronomy. The menu for brunch is small, so they’re not trying to do too much, just a few things really well. We had the duck pastrami, the omelette, the fried chicken with hoecakes, and the Bloody Mary. All great. They had live music playing, and the kitchen staff clearly took pride in all of their work and presentation of the food.

We sat at the bar and had an incredible meal at The Grey. The patty melt was delicious, the Sizzlin’ Smoky Pig was absolutely amazing, the chicken schnitzel was perfectly crisp, and the oysters were fresh and flavorful. Great atmosphere, attentive service, and top-notch food all around. Highly recommend!

As first-time tourists in Savannah, visiting The Grey was a highlight of our trip! The dining experience was absolutely five-star from start to finish. Our waiter, Jack, was phenomenal—he led a team of servers and bussers who were attentive, professional, and truly enhanced the evening. The meal itself was amazing, but I have to give a special shout-out to the Apple Shortcake. It is top-tier and honestly holds its own against any dessert we’ve had at restaurants around the world. Highly recommend asking for Jack if you visit!
